April showers bring May Flowers!!

I wrote this a while back...but had a hard time posting the pictures...so sorry this is a little dated...I will work on getting one with more recent pictures here soon!!!

Holy Moly!!! How the time is flying for the Steinlage Family!!! We have been super busy the last month and half, but things are slowly starting to slow down as the school year is starting to come to a close. Wade has kept us busy many week nights and weekends with baseball and softball games!! Whitney and I have enjoyed watching the games either in the press box (when it was super cold and rainy) or behind the outfield with a blanket and lots of sun!!!

Along with Wade's games, we have also been busy with my coaching soccer! Between practices and games along with Wade's games, we are very excited to have a night during the week when we are both home before 9!!! However, the last home softball and baseball games have been played as William Penn is finishing the school year this week and we can only worry about Grinnell's soccer taking up our time. The girls love having Whitney up there and call her "wildabeast." They names her this last year when we found out we were pregnant! They knew we were going to name the baby starting with a "W" so that is the name they came up with! Whitney has a very cute orange hat and black bow along with a Grinnell Tiger shirt (pictures will come later).

At the end of March, she got to hang out with Uncle Jade for a couple days while he stayed with us a couple of days on his way home from College. It was super nice to have him here!!! Whitney sure does like hanging out with her Uncle!!! The beginning of April, we spent the weekend at Wade's family and Whitney was able to take part in her very first Easter Egg Hunt. Although, she didn't get to enjoy any of the yummy candy (we left it for the other kids), she was super cute in her Easter Dress. Daddy also got her a huge Bunny Card and some pretty cool sunglasses.

She also enjoyed her very first Jazz Playoff game and mom yelling at the TV, cheering on the Jazz!! She spent most of the time talking to Grandma about the game and telling her how crazy mom is!!!

Along with sports keeping us busy, we have been busy with work. I have been subbbing lots and lots and although the money is very nice... I do miss spending time with Whitney and enjoy when I don't have to sub!!! Whitney continues to grow and get bigger every day!!! On her 3 month birthday, we moved her from our room to her own room! She started sleeping in her crib and after the first night, has done wonderful about sleeping in there! She loves her mobile and Primary Song CD. She usually falls asleep right when we put her down (we are very lucky!!!!) She has started to roll over, although this happens only when she feels like it!! She DOESN'T like being on her stomach and hence doesn't always want to roll over!! However, when she does roll over...she gets the biggest smile on her face!!! She has also started sitting up (obviously us sitting her up!!!), but she can hold her self up, but after a little while, slowly falls over until her chest is on the floor!!! Very cute!!! She loves watching TV and listening to music and has started to grab at things and hold and play with them. Whitney is also a drooler!!! She can soak an entire shirt within a few minutes!! We continue to watch for a tooth as drooling and chewing constantly is usually a sign...but nothing yet!!! She continues to amaze each and every day!!! We know that we are so very lucky to have such a calm and happy baby!!! We hope all is well with everyone and will try to do a better job of keeping this better updated!!! :)

The Time is Flying!!!!

Okay, as my mom pointed out to me, I haven't updated this in a while! So, here it goes!!! Since the last post, Whitney had her very first big trip as we went to Idaho!!! It was her first plane ride and things couldn't have gone any better!!! She slept the whole time on each flight and was the perfect little angel that she is!!! HOwever, I did discover that traveling alone with a baby can be very difficult with going through security!!! NO FUN!!! I don't have the pictures from us arriving at the airport, but will get them from my mom and put them on here!! My parents were waiting for us with beautiful fake toy flowers and of course the AWESOME UTAH JAZZ JACKET she will be wearing when she grows into it (they don't make them for newborns!!!) She then got to experience being in her car seat for longer than an hour as we drove back to Idaho! She was very tired from the long day and had a very sad cry for the first part, but was able to finally fall asleep in the car. We were home for a day and quickly visited people before we took off for Boise. She did get to meet her older "brother" Gentry for the first time and let's just say that Gentry was a very jealous dog while we were home!!! He didn't not like the fact that he was not the center of attention!!! She also enjoyed a bath in her duck bathrobe that Grandpa and Grandma had gotten her. Bonneville was playing in the Girl's State Basketball Tournament and we had tickets to go skiing at Bogus Basin. Whitney did very good in the car ride over and loved the basketball game. She had two very cute Bee Outfits on (once again, I will have to get those pictures from my mom) to cheer on the girls. Although they took second, we had lots of fun! I also got to ski for the first time in a long time and had lots of fun. We each took turns watching Whitney as she slept most of the time in the lodge. However, we did get her out on the hill once for a cute picture! Once we got back from Boise, Grandma and Grandpa had to go back to work and Aunt Jerie had to return to school, so we would go down to my parents new house they are working on and hang out. Mom got to sheetrock a little while Grandma played and talked to Whitney. While we were out there, she really started talking back to you and became much more aware of things around her. She also discovered her hand and loves to suck on her WHOLE hand (always her left...so maybe she will be cool like her mom!!!) She also went to Jaker's for the first time as well as Aunt Jerie bring home some really cool rings for her to wear!!!

Whitney also got to meet some of my friends from when I was young. We had dinner at the Young's (a family who lived on the same block as us and Pam and I are a year apart). Pam had a baby boy five days after Whitney was born and his name is Carson (yeah...because we are cool!!). It was so cute because we were asking Whitney and Carson if they knew each other in heaven and Whitney reached over and grabbed his hand!!! Maybe a wedding will take place in 20 years!!! She also meet the Packs! We had dinner over at their place and she meet Darrel, Ellie and their son Mike (we were very good friends growing up and his wife Amanda. It was so nice to see everyone! Whitney also enjoyed watching the Olymics with us and in the picture is watching the Americans win their first ever Gold in Nordic Combine!! GO USA!!!!

The rest of the time was spent hanging out and relaxing with the family!!! We had lots of fun being out there!! We went shopping for lots of cute clothes and found so many cute things!!! Whitney has the cutest Easter Dress and everyone at church thought she was so cute!!! When Whitney was born, we did a very cute picture of her in my dad's hands, so did that again to see how much she had grown and oh had she grown!!! The trip came to an end and it was very sad to leave!! We tried not to cry at the airport, but it still happened. However, my dad wore his Grandpa shirt and Whiteny and him look so cute together!!!

When we came back, we arrived home to see Wade and although we were very sad to have left Idaho, we were very happy to see him again!!! It was a late night getting back to Osky around 1:30 and then had to get up early for shots!!! Whitney didn't think that was a lot of fun, but made it through like a champ!! She can also sit up in her twirl toy and loves smiling and talking to us!! She also experienced her first every thunderstorm!! (Although, there will be lots more of those!!!) Sine then, I have gone back to subbing, so she has been going to a friend of ours or hanging out with dad in his office. Everyone loves having Whitney around!! We have seen Wade's family as well and hopefully with her getting older and it getting warmer, will be able to see them more often. We love having Whitney in our life and wouldn't change anything about her!! Hope all is well and that Spring is around the corner as we will be spending most of our time at Grinnell Girl's soccer or Penn Softball and Baseball games!! We can't wait to get out and enjoy the sun!!! Love to all!!!
