Whitney's First Halloween- 2010

Hello everyone...we hope that Halloween this year was scary and fun for you!!! We had a lot of fun with Whitney's first Halloween.  When we were in Utah over labor day, my mom found the cutest Halloween outfit for Whitney!! Whitney went as an adorable little Cheeseburger...which I thought was wonderful as that is one of my favorite foods in the whole world!!!

She was such a cutie in her little Cheeseburger outfit and was able to wear it several times.  She wore it to her daycares Halloween Day, when we had our own little celebration and to the William Penn football game (30th), so everyone could see her all dressed up.  She especially liked showing it off for Keena (Wade's grad assistant...who also watched her so Wade and I could have some adult time at one of Wade's friends place.)

We had thought about taking her treak-a-treating, but Oskaloosa does their treak on Thursday night, and that was the one cold night of October...it was really windy and cold.  So, we decided to stay in and on Friday night had our good friends the Leaks over for dinner and some pumpkin carving.  Whitney loved it!                          At first she was very hesitant of putting her hand in the pumpkin and all the goo!  But after slowly warming up to it...she was all about playing with the pumpkin insides.  Then....of course she couldn't wait to put the seeds and anything else from the pumpkin in her mouth.  Which was very funny because she would sneak a seed past Wade's watchful eye....or at least his attempting to watch and end up with a seed in her mouth.  Then the struggle began between dad and daughter.  Wade would fish the seed out of Whitney's mouth while Whitney fought very hard to not let Wade get his finger in her mouth.  You probably had to be there...but it was very funny!!!
It was a lot of fun carving our first official family of pumpkins and with mom's help...Whitney had a cute little pumpkin...Mine was very similar to Whitney's and I guess Wade was going for the funky looking pumpkin.  However....it did make for a very cute family picture!
We hope that as the nice weather of summer and fall slowly goes into winter (some sooner than others) as we were still in the 70's the last couple of days)...that you enjoy the start of the holiday season and hope happiness and joy for you!

P.S.  The cute skelton on the door is from Grandma Cindy and Aunt Jerie...but the hands and feet are Whitney's.  Very adorable to have cute little hands and feet!!!
